5G's Cam Toys

Lesson: Design and technology

Class: Class 5G Year: 2021 - 2022

In our DT lessons this half term, we learnt about the history of toys and toymakers, explored popular cam toys, investigated how they were constructed and researched their purpose in preparation for designing our own moving toy that would appeal to a young child. We had to consider the theme of the toy to suit the preferences of our chosen child, colours that would appeal to the receiver of the toy, the shape of cam depending on the movement we hoped our topper would make and handle tools such as saws very carefully! Here are all of our creations that we are very proud of.
