All About Year 4
In Year 4, we believe in team work and us all working together as one team which includes every one of the year 4 children! Our staff team includes Miss Macintyre, Miss Campbell and Miss Berry and we are supported by Mrs Morrey, Mrs Almond, Mrs Caldwell, Miss Cunningham and Mr Cannon. We all work together very hard to ensure that all children make good progress.
During the year, we will study some great and interesting topics such as: Ancient Greece, Ancient Rome, Sound, Europe, Animal Habitats, Teeth and Eating. We also hope to have some exciting visitors in to school and to take some trips to intriguing places, including an overnight stay.
We will also study a different class book each half term. These include, 'The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe', 'The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane' and 'River Stories'.

In addition to the set homework, pupils should be reading every evening and regularly practising their spellings and times tables (using TT Rockstars). Some homework is set on Google Classroom. Please check there each week.

Miss Macintyre |
4M Hello, my name is Miss Macintyre! This is my fourth year teaching Year 4 at Great Moor Junior School and I am very excited to work alongside Miss Campbell and Miss Berry. My classroom assisstant is Mrs Caldwell. I look forward to supporting your children to grow in their ability and confidence throughout the year. Year 4 has lots of interesting topics. I love to teach Maths, Geography and History. As History Subject Leader, I love to discuss anything to do with History. My favourite topic is the ancient Greeks and my favourite holiday destination is any of the Greek islands. My sister and I are trying to visit all 227! Outside of school, I enjoy running, travelling and cooking. I hope the children thoroughly enjoy their time in year 4. If you ever have any questions, feel free to send me an email or we are available at the end of the day when we dismiss the children. Also, there will always be an adult on the door in the morning that you can talk to and pass on any messages. Miss Macintyre (Acting Year Group Leader)

Miss Campbell |
Hello, I’m Miss Campbell! I have been working at Great Moor Junior school since 2019, with a short break to complete my teaching qualification. After qualifying, I couldn’t resist coming back to our wonderful school. I am very excited to teach in Y4 again this year. I am very eager to watch children progress and grow this year. Year 4 is packed with so many interesting topics such as the Romans, Mountains and Wallpaper Printing. I absolutely love teaching all subjects but I also have the pleasure of being the Art subject co-ordinator so I’m hoping our class will be a very creative one! If the children ever have any artwork they have done outside of school, please feel free to bring it in and show me, I would love to see it. I am looking forward to working alongside Miss Cunningham. Miss Berry |
4B Hello my name is Miss Berry, I was fortunate enough to complete my teaching training course at Great Moor Junior School. I am very excited to continue my teaching journey in Year 4, alongside Miss Macintrye and Miss Campbell.
For the 2024/25 academic year, 4B will be supported by Mr Cannon and Mrs Almond.
I strive to create a nurturing, secure and enjoyable classroom environment where both students and staff can reach their fullest potential! I enjoy teaching a range of subjects such as PE, Maths and Art.
Outside of the classroom, you will either find me on a cricket pitch or out walking my dog RJ!
