5G P.E lessons - Haka

Lesson: Physical education

Class: Class 5G Year: 2022 - 2023

This half term, Year 5 have been learning about the Haka. We talked a lot about the ceremonial dance in M?ori culture, then we practised some of the moves we felt inspired by. We performed in pairs, small groups and as a whole class showing off our vigorous movements and stamping of the feet with a rhythmically chanted accompaniment. We all really enjoyed ourselves and found it interesting to learn about the traditions and culture behind the dance.
